Health and Safety Induction in South Africa

This course gives you an introduction to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and explains why it is important for keeping the workplace safe. You will learn about the Health and Safety Policy, the responsibilities of employers, employees, and health and safety representatives, and why it is important to report unsafe acts and unsafe conditions. The course also looks at rules on intoxication at work, the use of safety signs, and the legal need to have trained first aiders and fire fighters. We will also cover the possible offences and penalties for not following the law. Please note that this course gives only an overview of the Act: the Act tells us what must be done, while the regulations explain how it must be done.
